Localities
There are two co-type localities, the Balasauskandyk V Deposit, Shieli District, Kyzylorda Region, Kazakhstan, and
the Kurumsak V Deposit, Aksumbe, Sozak District, Turkistan Region, Kazakhstan.
At the type localities, aluminum
vanadates were found in several mines, in the oxidation zone of the
vanadiferous
clay-anthraxolite (pyrobitumen) horizon.
The alvanite occurs in mica-like platelets of hexagonal form
(AM 44.1325-1326).
Associated minerals include mica and possibly
roscoelite
(HOM).
