At the type locality, Mount Vesuvius, Somma-Vesuvius Complex, Naples, Campania, Italy, avogadrite occurs in fumeroles as minute octagonal crystals and dense crusts. Associated minerals include sassolite, malladrite and hieratite (HOM, Mindat).
