Localities

At the type locality, the Mounana Mine, Mounana, Léboumbi-Leyou Department, Haut-Ogooué Province, Gabon, bariandite occurs in fibres up to 3 mm long, platy on a perfect cleavage plane and nearly opaque. It occurs in the oxidation zone of the uranium deposit, associated with duttonite and lenoblite (AM 57.1555).
