Localities

At the type locality, the North Lily Mine, East Tintic Mining District, Utah County, Utah, USA, billingsleyite is believed to have occurred in a body of high-grade silver ore containing acanthite, tennantite, bismuthinite, pyrite and galena in shale. Billingsleyite occurs as fine grained aggregates with a dark lead-gray colour and a metallic lustre (AM 53.1791-1798, HOM).
