Evaporite deposits

Bischofite occurs in saline deposits, probably in part secondary, and formed by alteration of carnallite. Associated minerals include carnallite, halite and kieserite (HOM).

Localities

At the type locality, the Friedrichshall potash mine, Staßfurt, Salzlandkreis, Saxony-Anhalt, bischofite is associated with kieserite, halite and carnallite (Mindat).
