At the type locality, the Mohawk mine, Goldfield, Goldfield Mining District, Esmeralda county, Nevada, USA, blakeite occurs very sparingly as microcrystalline crusts resting on unaltered emmonsite crystals and associated with tellurium, pyrite and mackayite (AM 29.211-225, Mindat).
