Environments
Burnettite was approved in 2013 but to date (December 2022) it has been reported only from the type
locality. It likely formed from late-stage melting
(AM107.2321).
Localities
At the type locality, the Allende meteorite, Pueblito de Allende, Chihuahua, Mexico, burnettite occurs
with anorthite, beckettite,
corundum, coulsonite,
hercynite, hibonite,
davisite, grossmanite,
grossular, melilite,
paqueite, perovskite
and spinel
(Mindat).
