Localities

At the type locality, the Kudriavy volcano, Iturup Island, Kurilsky District, Kuril Islands, Sakhalin Oblast, Russia, cadmoindite occurs as high-temperature fumarolic crusts of the stratovolcano (Webmin). It is found as well formed, sharp, octahedral crystals to 0.15 mm around the vent of a high-temperature (450–600°C) fumarole. Associated Minerals include pyrite, cadmium-bearing wurtzite, rhenium disulphide, greenockite and lead-bismuth sulphide (HOM).
