Localities

At the Poudrette quarry, Mont Saint-Hilaire, La Vallée-du-Richelieu RCM, Montérégie, Québec, Canada, dorfmanite occurs in sodalite xenoliths associated with an intrusive alkalic gabbro-syenite complex. Associated minerals include sodalite, villiaumite, eudialyte, lovozerite and ussingite (HOM).

There are two co-type localities, the Koashva Open Pit, Koashva Mt, and the Material'naya Adit, Yukspor Mt, both at the Khibiny Massif, Murmansk Oblast, Russia. Here dorfmanite has been noted in drill cores into alkalic pegmatites in differentiated alkalic massifs, as an alteration product of lomonosovite and nacaphite. Associated minerals include lomonosovite, olympite and villiaumite (AM 66.217-218, HOM).
