Localities

At Tatarstan, Russia, ferrohexahydrite was found as a dehydration product of melanterite in drill cores from northeastern Tatarstan (HOM).

At the type locality, the Sofiya Mine, Nikitovka Hg deposit, Gorlovka, Donetsk Oblast, Ukraine, ferrohexahydrite occurs in oxidised ore-bearing sandstone (HOM).
