Kyanoxalite is a relatively new mineral, approved in 2008.

Localities

At the type locality, the Karnasurt Mountain, Lovozersky District, Murmansk Oblast, Russia, kyanoxalte occurs as colourless to pale bluish anhedral, isometric to prismatic grains to 2mm in size, typically in tiny veinlets between nepheline grains or as replacement rims surrounding sodalite-nosean masses in matrix. Associated minerals include sodalite, nosean, natrolite, murmanite, fluorapatite, albite and aegirine (Mindat).
