Localities

The type locality is Jáchymov, Karlovy Vary District, Karlovy Vary Region, Czech Republic. Metauranopilite is a dehydration product of uranopilite. It was discovered on a museum specimen from the uranium-bearing hydrothermal ore deposit, associated with uranopilite (HOM).
