Nafeasite is a new mineral, approved in 2022 and to date (May 2023) reorted only from the type locality.

Localities

At the type locality, the Torrecillas mine, Salar Grande, Iquique Province, Tarapacá, Chile, nafeasite was found as a secondary alteration phase associated with anhydrite, gypsum, halite, lavendulan, magnesiokoritnigite and natrojarosite. Nafeasite occurs in tightly intergrown aggregates of light to medium pink transparent equant crystals (MM 86.6.883-890).
