Localities

At the type locality, the Zhana-Tyube deposit, Stepnyak group, Stepnogorsk, Akmola Region, Kazakhstan, plumbotellurite occurs as a secondary mineral, formed by alteration of altaite near the base of the oxidation zone of the tellurium-rich mineral deposit. It occurs in association with altaite as replacement rims and pseudomorphs (HOM, AM 67.1075).
