Pokrovskite is an uncommon species in ultramafic bodies of dunite or serpentinite (HOM).

Localities

At the type locality, the Dunite lens, Zlatogorsk ultramafic intrusion, Zlatogorsk, Aiyrtau District, North Kazakhstan Region, Kazakhstan, pokrovskite occurs in a vein within dunite, associated with dolomite, magnesite and a pyroaurite-2H (sjögrenite)-like mineral (AM 70.217).

At the Cedar Hill Quarry, Fulton Township, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, USA, pokrovskite is associated with coalingite and mcguinnessite (HOM).
