At the type locality, the Einigkeit mine, Bauersberg, Bischofsheim an der Rhön, Rhön-Grabfeld District, Lower Franconia, Bavaria, Germany, wattevilleite occurs as tiny acicular white crystals in a pyrite-bearing lignite deposit (Mindat).
