Localities

At the type locality, the Wycheproof granite quarry, Wycheproof, Buloke Shire, Victoria, Australia, wycheproofite is found as compact, finely fibrous masses. The fibrous crystals are between 5 and 10 µm wide and up to several mm long, occurring in cavities in pegmatites. Associated minerals include schorl, kosnarite, eosphorite and cyrilovite (Mindat).
Another associated mineral is selwynite (CM 33.1.55–58).
