Localities

At the type locality, Orebody 31, Luobusha Mine, Luobusha ophiolite, Qusum County, Shannan Prefecture, Tibet, China, zangboite was discovered in a chromitite hosted in harzburgite. The zangboite occurs as grains or tabular crystals generally between 0.002 and 0.15 mm across. A small grain of zangboite was found in an Fe–Si phase as an inclusion, and native silicon forms a rim around grains of zangboite (CM 47.5.1265-1274).
