Ziroite is a new mineral, approved in 2022 and to date (January 2026) reported only from the type locality.

Localities

At the type locality, Mount Carmel, Haifa District, Israel, ziroite occurs as inclusions in corundum xenocrysts, as irregular crystals ~1 to 4 μm in size, associated with baddeleyite, hibonite, corundum, fluorbritholite-(Ce), osbornite and hapkeite (Mindat).
