Argentotetrahedreite-(Cd) is a new mineral, approved in 2022 and to date (May 2023) reported only from the type locality

Localities

At the type locality, the Rudno nad Hronom exploration area, Rudno nad Hronom, Žarnovica District, Banská Bystrica Region, Slovakia, argentotetrahedrite-(Cd) occurs as anhedral grains up to 30 μm in size, steel-grey to black in colour, with a metallic lustre, in association with greenockite and other tetrahedrite-group minerals [argentotetrahedrite-(Zn) and tetrahedrite-(Zn)], earlier base-metal minerals, silver sulphides and sulphosalts (acanthite, pyrargyrite and polybasite) and later galena (MM 87.2.252-261).
