Calciodelrioite is a secondary mineral that occurs as crystalline crusts on fracture surfaces in the oxidised portions of corvusite- and montroseite- impregnated sandstone (HOM).

Localities

At the Blue Streak mine, Bull Canyon Mining District, Montrose County, Colorado, USA, calciodelrioite is associated with delrioite, huemulite, hummerite, magnesiopascoite, powellite and potassium- and magnesium- bearing decavanadate (salt of the decavanadate anion [V10O28]6-) (HOM).

At the Saint Jude mine, Slick Rock Mining District, San Miguel County, Colorado, USA, calciodelrioite is associated with delrioite, hendersonite, pascoite, powellite and schindlerite (HOM). Kokinosite is also found in the same area of the mine CM 52.1.15-25).

At the type locality, the West Sunday mine, Slick Rock Mining District, San Miguel County, Colorado, USA, calciodelrioite occurs in the uranium-vanadium sandstone deposit on fracture surfaces in corvusite- and montroseite- impregnated sandstone and forms as a result of the oxidative alteration of these phases. Associated minerals include celestine, gypsum, huemulite, metarossite, pascoite and rossite. The calciodelrioite occurs as transparent colourless needles, bundles of tan to brown needles and star bursts of nearly black broad blades composed of tightly intergrown needles (MM 76.2803-2817.

At the Little Eva mine, Yellow Cat Mesa, Thompsons Mining District, Grand County, Utah, USA, calciodelrioite is associated with huemulite (HOM).
