Localities

At the type locality, the Jo Dandy Mine, Paradox Valley, Uravan Mining District, Montrose County, Colorado, USA, delrioite occurs as an efflorescence on sandstone on the dump at the the Hummer portal. This occurrence suggests that the delrioite is one of the soluble oxidation products of the lower valent vanadium minerals found in the mine (AM 44.261-264).
Associated minerals include metadelrioite, rossite, metarossite and quartz (HOM).

At the Pahranagat Mining District, Lincoln County, Nevada, USA, delrioite occurs with metadelrioite and calcite (Mindat photo).
