Localities

At the Murunskii Massif, Chara and Tokko Rivers Confluence, Aldan Shield, Russia, canasite occurs in charoitic rocks, associated with tinaksite, miserite and charoite (HOM).

At the type locality, the Material'naya Adit, Yukspor Mt, Khibiny Massif, Murmansk Oblast, Russia, canasite occurs as crystals to 10 cm in pegmatites in the differentiated alkalic massif. Associated minerals include fenaksite, lamprophyllite, titanite, eudialyte, nepheline, pyroxene and orthoclase (Mindat).
