At the type locality, the Hudson Bay Mine, Coleman Township, Cobalt area, Cobalt-Gowganda region, Timiskaming District, Ontario, Canada, ferrisymplesite occurs in the oxidised zone of a Co–Ni sulphide deposit, associated with erythriteannabergite (HOM).

At Neubulach, Calw, Karlsruhe Region, Baden-Württemberg, Germany, ferrisymplesite occurs in the oxidised zone of a polymetallic hydrothermal ore deposit, associated with copper and malachite (HOM).
