Localities

At the type locality, the Repete Mine, Montezuma Canyon Mining District, San Juan County, Utah, USA, secondary haynesite occurs as amber-yellow, transparent to translucent, millimetric tablets and rosettes; it is associated with andersonite, boltwoodite, larisaite, ferroselite, uraninite, marcasite, gypsum, baryte and calcite as crusts on mudstone and sandstone of Upper Jurassic age (161 to 145 million years ago) (CM 29.561-564, HOM, Lauf2).
