At Seal Lake, Canada, joaquinite-(Ce) occurs in gneiss and alkali syenite, associated with aegirine, barylite, eudidymite and neptunite (HOM).

At the Ilimaussaq alkaline massif, south Greenland, joaquinite-(Ce) occurs in nepheline syenite pegmatites (AM52.1762).

At the type locality, the Dallas Gem mine, San Benito county, California, USA, joaquinite-(Ce) occurs in a natrolite vein cutting a glaucophane schist inclusion in a serpentinite body, associated with orthojoaquinite-(Ce), benitoite, neptunite and natrolite (HOM, AM 52.1762).
