Metamorphic environments

At the type locality, the Christmas mine, Gila county, Arizona, USA, junitoite occurs in a retrogressively altered skarn, with its occurrence closely related to the breakdown of sphalerite in the ores (AM61.1255-1258). It is associated with kinoite, apophyllite, tyrolite, sphalerite, clay minerals, calcite, and xonotlite (Dana, Mindat, HOM).
