Kingsgateite is a new mineral, approved in 2019 and to date (August 2022) reported only from the type locality.

Localities

At the type locality, Old 25 Pipe (Pipe No. 14), Kingsgate, Gough county, New South Wales, Australia, kingsgateite is a new supergene mineral that occurs in cavities in a quartz-muscovite matrix associated with molybdenite, gelosaite and mambertiite. It forms yellowish green to bluish grey, square tabular crystals to 0.12 mm across (MM 86.3.486-491).
