Kuzelite is a rare mineral in carbonaceous xenoliths in basalt, formed above 100oC by decomposition of ettringite (HOM).

Localities

At the Zeilberg Quarry, Bavaria, Germany, kuzelite is associated with ettringite, afwillite, natrolite, calcite, tobermorite, gyrolite, portlandite and apophyllite (HOM).

At the Bellerberg volcano, Vordereifel, Mayen-Koblenz District, Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany, kuzelite is associated with hydrocalumite, ettringite, tobermorite, strätlingitevertumnite, portlandite, calcite and gypsum (HOM).
