Plutonic igneous environments

Liguowuite is a new mineral, approved in 2020 and to date (October 2023) reported only from the type locality.

Localities

At the type locality, Nanyang, Huaping County, Lijiang, Yunnan, China, liguowuite was found in biotite-quartz monzonite as crystals that are granular, found as inclusions, and in veins between tewite and wumuite (AM 108.1994).
Liguowuite occurs as prismatic crystals, 0.05 to 0.1 mm in diameter, associated with zoisite, zircon, xenotime-(Y), wumuite, tourmaline, titanite, tewite, tellurite, scheelite, quartz, pyrite, monazite-(Ce), moissanite, magnetite, kaolinite, ilmenite, hematite, goethite, fluorapatite, epidote, diopside, bastnäsite-(Ce), almandine, allanite-(Ce) and albite (Mindat).
