Environments
Liguowuite is a new mineral, approved in 2020 and to date (October 2023) reported only from the type locality.
Localities
At the type locality, Nanyang, Huaping County, Lijiang, Yunnan, China, liguowuite was found in
biotite-quartz
monzonite as crystals that
are granular, found as inclusions, and in veins between tewite and
wumuite
(AM 108.1994).
Liguowuite occurs as prismatic crystals, 0.05 to 0.1 mm in diameter, associated with
zoisite, zircon,
xenotime-(Y), wumuite,
tourmaline, titanite,
tewite, tellurite,
scheelite, quartz,
pyrite, monazite-(Ce),
moissanite, magnetite,
kaolinite, ilmenite,
hematite, goethite,
fluorapatite, epidote,
diopside, bastnäsite-(Ce),
almandine, allanite-(Ce)
and albite
(Mindat).
