Magnesio-ferri-hornblende is a relatively new mineral, approved in 2022, but first published without approval in 2016.

Localities

At the type locality, the magnesio-ferri-horblende type locality, Jinghe county, Bo'ertala Autonomous Prefecture, Xinjiang, China, magnesio-ferri-hornblende occurs as subhedral columnar crystals up to 3 mm in length in porphyry skarn. Associated minerals include plagioclase, quartz, K-feldspar, biotite, magnesio-hastingsite, zircon, magnetite, apatite and titanite (Mindat).
