Massicot is a rare mineral of secondary origin associated with galena and paramorphous with litharge. It may be an oxidation product of galena, bournonite, boulangerite or other lead-bearing minerals and it is also found as a sublimation product in fumeroles (Dana). It is associated with cerussite, litharge, minium, wulfenite, antimony oxides and limonite (HOM).
