Medvedevite is a new mineral, approved in 2021 and to date (August 2022) reported only from the type locality.

Localities

At the type locality, the Toludskoe lava field, 2012-2013 Fissure Tolbachik Eruption site, Plosky Tolbachik volcano, Tolbachik volcano, Kamchatka Krai, Russia, medvedevite formed during the 2012–2013 Tolbachik fissure eruption. It occurs as thin acicular transparent bright red crystals up to 0.15 mm, associated with thénardite, halite, aphthitalite, leonite, kieserite, eugsterite and syngenite (MM 86.3.478-485).
