Mendozavilite-NaFe occurs in the oxidised zone of some molybdenum-bearing hydrothermal mineral deposits (HOM).

Localities

At the type locality:ⓘ San Judas Mine, Cumobabi, El Verde Mining District, Cumpas Municipality, Sonora, Mexico, mendozavilite-NaFe occurs in the oxide zone of the pegmatite molybdenum deposit, as small (~20 µm) but well-formed crystals associated with quartz and paramendozavilite (HOM, Mindat).
