At the type locality, the Carolina mine, Landsberg, Obermoschel, Nordpfälzer Land, Donnersberg District, Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany, moschellandsbergite is associated with tetrahedritetennantite, sphalerite, pyrite, native amalgam, metacinnabar, cinnabar and chalcopyrite (Mindat).
