Localities

There are two co-type localities, the Kuniok Valley and the Material'naya Adit, Yukspor Mt, both in the Khibiny Massif, Murmansk Oblast, Russia. Nefedovite occurs here as irregular grains from 0.01 to 0.5 mm, in aggregates up to 5 mm, and as a fine-grained replacement of apatite. Associated minerals include apatite, nacaphite, eudialyte, delhayelite, canasite, djerfisherite, rasvumite, orthoclase, adularia, nepheline, alkali amphibole and titanite. The environment is pegmatitic segregations in agpaitic nepheline syenites (AM 69.812-813, HOM).
