Paramarkeyite is a new mineral, approved in 2021, and to date (March 2022) reported only from the type locality.

Localities

At the type locality, the Markey Mine, Red Canyon Mining District, San Juan County, Utah, USA, paramarkeyite occurs as a secondary phase on gypsum-coated bitumen in association with andersonite, calcite, gypsum and natromarkeyite. The paramarkeyite crystals are transparent, pale green-yellow, striated tablets, up to 0.11 mm across (MM 86.27-36).
