At the Otjiwalundo Salt Pan, Kunene Region, Namibia, pirssonite occurs with trona and thénardite.

At Borax Lake, California, USA, pirssonite occurs with northupite, tychite and gaylussite.

Near Green River, Wyoming, USA, pirssonite has been recovered from drill cores with shortite, bradleyite, northupite, gaylussite and trona.
