Localities

At the type locality, the San Vito Quarry, San Vito, Ercolano, Mount Somma, Somma-Vesuvius Complex, Naples, Campania, Italy, potassic-fluoro-richterite occurs as light grey, euhedral, prismatic crystals up to 0.5 cm long, and as thin veinlets. It is transparent, with a vitreous lustre and a white streak. It occurs in a skarn ejectum occurring in pyroclasts and associated with calcite and diopside (AM 79.186).
