Reinhardbraunsite, like all calcium-humites, is a product of high-temperature and low-pressure environments, and it is a product of contact metamorphism between high-temperature magma/lava flows and carbonate rocks (Mindat).

Localities

At the Bellerberg volcano, Vordereifel, Mayen-Koblenz, Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany, reinhardbraunsite occurs in contact metamorphosed and metasomatised calcium-rich xenoliths in scoria. Associated minerals include ellestadite, cuspidine, gehlenite, brownmillerite, mayenite and periclase (HOM).

At the type locality, the Caspar quarry, Ettringen, Vordereifel, Mayen-Koblenz, Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany, reinhardbraunsite occurs as anhedral to subhedral grains, up to 3 mm in size, in xenoliths in scoria. Associated minerals include periclase, gehlenite, ellestadite, cuspidine, chlormayenite and brownmillerite (Mindat).
