Pegmatites

Rewitzerite is a new mineral, approved in 2023 and to date (February 2024) reported only from the type locality.

Localities

At the type locality, the 47 m level, Hagendorf South Pegmatite, Hagendorf, Waidhaus, Neustadt an der Waldnaab District, Upper Palatinate, Bavaria, Germany, rewitzerite was found in specimens of altered zwieselite, in association with rockbridgeite. Rewitzerite forms clusters of colourless elongated hexagonal-shaped prisms, up to 0.1 mm long. (MM 87.6.830-838).
