Rudabányaite is a relatively new mineral, approved in 2016 and to date (March 2024) reported only from the
type locality.
Localities
At the type locality, the Adolf Mine, Rudabánya, Kazincbarcika District, Borsod-Abaúj-Zemplén County, Hungary,
rudabányaite was found in cavities of siliceous sphaerosiderite and
limonite rocks; it forms small crystals up to 0.6 mm in size and aggregates
of a few mm across
(EJM 31.537-547).
