Saccoite is a new mineral, approved in 2019 and to date reported only from the type locality.

Localities

At the type locality, the N'Chwaning III mine, N'Chwaning Mines, Kuruman, Kalahari manganese field, Northern Cape, South Africa, saccoite occurs as fillings of voids in hydrothermally altered manganese ore comprised mostly of bixbyite-(Mn) and baryte. Further associated minor minerals are braunite, gypsum, chlorite, sturmanite and ettringite. Saccoite forms small olive-green needles, felted crystal masses or crusts (MM 86.5.814-820).
