Localities

There are two co-type localities, the Balasauskandyk V Deposit, Shieli District, Kyzylorda Region, Kazakhstan, and the Kurumsak V Deposit, Aksumbe, Sozak District, Turkistan Region, Kazakhstan.

In Kazakstan satpaevite occurs in the oxidation zone of a vanadiferous clay-pyrobitumen horizon. Associated minerals include steigerite, vanalite, hewettite, delvauxite and gypsum (HOM).
