At Věžná, Žďár nad Sázavou District, Vysočina Region, Czech Republic, stokesite occurs in miarolitic cavities in a quartz-albite pegmatite (HOM).

At the El Hammam Mine, El Hammam, Ait Mimoune Caïdat, Khémisset Cercle, Khémisset Province, Rabat-Salé-Kénitra Region, Morocco, el Hammam, Morocco, stokesite occurs in tin-rich garnet skarn (Dana ).

At the type locality, Stamps and Jowl Zawn, Cliff outcrops, Botallack, St Just, Cornwall, England, UK, stokesite occurs on axinite associated with cassiterite (HOM).
