Localities

At the type locality, the Hol Kol Mine, Suan-gun, North Hwanghae Province, North Korea, suanite occurs in a contact metasomatic hydrothermal boron deposit in skarn (Webmin, HOM). Associated minerals include calcite, szaibélyite, kotoite, sakhaite, ludwigite, forsterite, apatite, spinel and clinohumite (AM 40.941, HOM).
