Localities

At the type locality, Orebody CR-11, Kangjinla Cr deposit, Luobusha ophiolite, Qusum county, Shannan Prefecture, Tibet, China, the minerals wenjiite and kangjinlaite, new in 2019, occur with badengzhuite, zhiqinite and a K-bearing dmisteinbergite-like mineral in a spheroid 20 μm across enclosed in corundum. In addition, wenjiite occurs with deltalumite, jingsuiite, osbornite, khamrabaevite and the K-bearing dmisteinbergite-like mineral in a lamellar intergrowth 100 μm long, also enclosed in corundum from the same locality.
The previously deduced crystallisation sequence with decreasing temperature of the four minerals in the spheroid is wenjiitekangjinlaitezhiqinite + badengzhuite. Final crystallisation of the spheroid to zhiqinite + badengzhuite is expected to be in the range of around 1100 to 1300°C (AM 108.1.210).
