Localities

At the type locality, the Pico das Almas river, Paramirim das Crioulas, Érico Cardoso, Bahia, Brazil, bahianite occurs as water-worn tan to cream stream-worn pebbles and as residual concentrates above weathered volcanic rock. Associated minerals include viridine, staurolite, quartz, andalusite, kyanite, gold, diaspore, eskolaite and cassiterite; crystals in vugs are colourless, tan or pale violet (AM 64.464, Mindat).
