The type locality for is the Malyi Punkaruaiv Mountain, Lovozero Massif, Murmansk Oblast, Russia, where
it occurs in an alkalic pegmatite, associated with

nepheline, natrolite,
murmanite, microcline,
manganoneptunite, manganoan
pectolite,
eudialyte and
aegirine (Mindat).
