Localities

At the Tumiñico mine, Sierra de Cacho, Villa Castelli, General Lamadrid department, La Rioja Province, Argentina, brodtkorbite occurs in a telethermal (deposits formed away from the source of igneous intrusions at low temperature and shallow depth) selenide vein-type assemblage. The assemblage also contains berzelianite, bellidoite, cadmoselite, chaméanite, crookesite, eskebornite, eucairite, ferroselite, hakite, klockmannite, trogtalite-kruťaite, tiemannite, tyrrellite, umangite and uraninite (CM 40.1.225–237).

At the type locality, Ust' Uyuk deposit, Turan District, Tuva, Russia, cadmoselite occurs in sedimentary strata, under reducing secondary conditions of medium to high alkalinity. Associated minerals include ferroselite, clausthalite, cadmium-bearing sphalerite, selenium, greenockite, pyrite, laumontite and calcite (HOM).
